Pediatric suction clinic
If your little one is sick with a virus, it may mean a prescription to the suction clinic. At our outpatient respiratory suction clinic, we provide specialized, ongoing care for children under the age of two who are diagnosed with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) or viral bronchiolitis.
Our goal is to help your child breathe better. Our respiratory therapists check oxygen levels, measure respiratory rate, listen to breathing to check for wheezing, and provide respiratory treatment if needed. Some children will need nasal suctioning to keep airways clear. After treatment is provided, we will reassess your child to determine if further action is needed.
To access the suction clinic, bring the order from your doctor. Go to the hospital emergency room entrance (Building 2). Check in at the emergency room registration desk. Let the registrar know you are here for the suction clinic when you arrive.
The suction clinic hours are 7:00am – 5:00pm and 7:00pm – 5:00am.
