Advanced care for chronic regional pain syndrome (CRPS)

CRPS refers to a chronic condition that affects the nerves and blood vessels in one or more limbs.

There are two types of CRPS:

  • CRPS 1, previously known as "reflex sympathetic dystrophy," has no observable nerve damage.
  • CRPS 2, previously known as "causalgia," produces similar symptoms after a verified nerve injury has occurred.

Our pain management doctors understand the effects of CRPS and how it can impact our patients' day-to-day lives. With advanced techniques, we can help alleviate chronic pain produced by CRPS.

Interventional pain management

We are passionate about treating our patients' chronic and acute pain. Our interventional pain treatments include minimally invasive procedures to help manage pain while decreasing the need for additional medications.

Our mission is to provide support for every pain you have. In addition to a wide range of treatment methods, our interventional pain clinic offers continued care through orthopedic services and rehabilitation treatments, operated by licensed specialists who understand integrated pain management.

Treatments for pain

Our pain management clinic offers a full range of treatments and our team works together to develop a personalized plan that aligns with your unique needs. We focus on minimally invasive treatment options first, before prescription pain medication. However, our doctors will discuss every option with you to determine what treatment is best for your condition.

Our chronic pain treatments include:

  • Botulinum toxin injections (commonly known as "Botox")—Relaxes painful and hyperactive muscles.
  • Epidural steroid injection—Reduces inflammation of nerves in the epidural space and thus reduce pain and other symptoms.
  • Facet injection—Relieves inflammation from the spine's bony framework.
  • Lumbar sympathetic block—Interrupts nerve conduction along certain types of nerves that predominantly carry pain signals to the brain.
  • Radiofrequency lesioning—Disrupts nerve conduction (such as conduction of pain signals) and reduces pain and other related symptoms.
  • Selective nerve root block—Reduces inflammation of nerves, pain and other related symptoms.
  • Trigger point injection—Breaks the pain cycle at the trigger point.
